IN this unique Arms & Armour Press softback from 1988, author Ray Rimell provides concise captions to 120 rare photos of WWI aeroplanes in their natural element-the air. Aerial combat footage was scarce back then and many of the extraordinary images in this book were selected for their historical interest rather than their quality, but there are plenty of excellent examples too.
