WHERE IT ALL BEGAN!

THE very first Wingnut Wings kitset released in early 2009 to worldwide critical acclaim-breaking new ground in WWI plastic aeroplane kits setting a very high bar that has rarely been surpassed. Our kit is complete with everything still sealed in  original factory polythene bags and includes five choices of markings, a PE detail sheet and superb instruction manual setting the standard for many amazing models produced by the New Zealand manufacturer for over a decade. The kit sold out in May 2018, and ours includes exclusive bonus items in the form of four unique resin groundcrew figures; Master Models Parabellum set and complete colour build log from the March/April 2009 edition of WINDSOCK Worldwide.

*SOLD - OUT 3/6/26*

RARE COPY OF THE 2009 WINDSOCK  WINGNUT SPECIAL!

The Volume 25, No.2 edition was our first all-colour edition and featured extra pages to exclusively review  surprise introduction of four new 1:32 scale WWI aircraft kits with unprecedented quality and exceptional detail. The armoured Junkers J.I biplane; LVG C.VI; Hispano-Suiza powered RAF SE5a and the outstanding Bristol Fighter kits are all covered in depth with extensive stage-by-stage colour builds that showcase these ground-breaking model kits. The issue also revealed many other Wingnut Wings kits in preparation that made such a huge impression on the model world at the time and led  to an extensive range of fighters, bombers, floatplanes and two-seaters that still enjoy a dedicated following today, ten years after the New Zealand company ceased operation. There is only one copy of this first edition available and is in prime condition...

FARNBOROUGH'S FABULOUS FIGHTER!

ONE of the most popular of Wingnut Wings' early single seat fighter kits, the SE5a was never re-issued in other boxings, although at least one Viper-powered version was planned and also a Home Defence nightfighter variant. Sadly, these kits never materialised, but the original kit is more than enough being a superb production: typically WNW with superbly-detailed parts, plenty of internal and cockpit detail; a fully-appointed engine; accurate outlines overall and  generous selection of markings on an expansive Cartograf -printed decal sheet. Our SE5a is in near perfect condition with re-bagged runners and comes with some great extras including a combined set of HGW detail parts for the kit, together with a scanned copy of our exclusive build log from WS Vol.25, No.2 which is now no longer generally available.

*CONTAINS SEVEN PAGE BUILD LOG IN FULL COLOUR!

THE ULTIMATE LVG!

AN original 2009-dated WNW LVG C.VI in perfect condition with all contents still in their un-opened factory-sealed clear bags-including the five sheet decal set and instruction manual. The kit had sold out by 2012-a measure of its popularity-and we have two examples in stock of which this mint example is the first on offer. It comes with several extra items including an as-new HGW super detail set with loads of PE add-ons; wood-grain decals; paint masks and pre-coloured textile seat belts to enhance the kit still further. In addition, there's a special bonus in the shape of three extremely rare figures intended for WNW Special Edition kits that were sadly never released. These come pre-painted in authentic colours and are absolutely unique...

WITH hyper-detailed, heavily-illustrated build logs for the excellent Wingnut Wings Sopwith F.1 [ Clerget ] and 2F.1 Camel kits plus bonus material on modelling the LVG CVI, this 60 page title contains over 320 images supporting the step-by-step assembly and painting notes. In addition, Ronny Bar provides all- new Camel and LVG colour profiles adding further value...

What the reviewers said:

*...'a stunning amalgam of an excellent kit and an excellent publication, a combined treasure for any WWI modeller. Either can stand alone on its own merits, but when combined, it's a spectacular combination'...

The one on offer is in mint condition with all plastic parts, 14-piece PE detail set and decal sheets in their original un-opened polythene bags-only the instruction manual sleeve having been opened. Although there are no after-market items included with this one, we do have a truly exclusive bonus item-an original 1918-dated piece of Bristol Fighter clear-doped fabric! SILVER BIRD!

THE original and first release of Wingnut Wing's highly popular and top-selling Pfalz D.IIIa that appeared in 2010 to great acclaim from a great  many WWI modelling enthusiasts. This superbly-detailed model kit formed the main review/build article* in the Volume 26, No.6 edition of  WINDSOCK International that soon sold out-as did the kit itself. Our example of the WNW Pfalz is complete and in mint condition, whilst the original factory-sealed clear poly sleeves were missing from this second-hand model so have been replaced with our own plastic bags for added protection-including the decal/manual packet. The kit packs a number of extra items in the box: an HGW full detailing set; Master  brass 'Spandau' barrels and firing tubes,  plus a full Aviattic Pfalz D.IIIa five-colour 'lozenge decal set with wings and tail elements pre-cut and  the requisite tapes in situ. Just cut out and apply-but carefully! This unique package is the first of several similar WNW Pfalz offers that will be coming to this shop in due course...

*Revised version of this build review appears in Building the Wingnut Wings DOLPHiN & PFALZ D.IIIa currently available from stock-please see the link alongside...

The 1:32 scale WINGNUT WINGS Sopwith Dolphin and reissued Pfalz D.IIIa kits are the subjects for our seventh WNW Special. Hyper-detailed step-by-step, stage-by-stage assembly and painting descriptions take the reader on a modelling journey, showing how to improve the kits; add extra details where needed and apply various small tweaks that turn already excellent kits into true miniature masterpieces. Over 300 photos, model and full-size, with over a dozen  all-new colour profiles by Ronny Bar, are further complemented by genuine WWI Dolphin handbook rigging notes, full-colour walkaround images of the RAFM Dolphin, detailed appendices and a great deal more. The Pfalz D.IIIa build log is an improved and fully revised version of the article which first appeared in WS 26/6, long out of print. Among the many highlights are simple methods of adding rib tape detail to the horizontal tailplane which was actually fabric-covered ,rather than  ply sheathed as moulded. For budding builders of both kits, this 64page book will prove to be the ultimate guide and reference.

ONE of the most popular of Wingnut Wings kits, the Albatros D.V is an accurate and relatively easy to assemble model that has almost endless scope for exotic unit markings and camouflage variations. Five examples of these are supplied on an expansive decal sheet that features D.Vs flown by Eduard Ritter von Schleich; Ottomar Hagenmuller; Otto Kissenberth; Fritz Rumey and Ernst Udet: Ronny Bar provides his usual stellar colour art in support. The kit is in mint order with all original poly bags intact, and comes packed with some great extras from HGW Models in the form of a comprehensive detail collection plus a decal set that enables complete fuselage nail heads to be applied. Rounding off this unique package is an LSK seated Albatros pilot figure, fully painted and ready to perch on your completed model's fuselage...

THIS generously-illustrated glossy all-colour 44 page Special presents three detailed build logs covering both original WNW Albatros D.V and D.Va kits. The book includes over 140 model photos; a dozen new Ronny Bar profiles; more than 50 rare archive images and over 30 great colour photos of TVAL's superb airworthy reproductions with plenty of detailed cockpit, armament and engine close-up views.
