We take a look at Camel colours in 1917-1918 with archive images and colour profiles, plus photos of genuine British aircraft fabric and national markings from 1914 Union Flags to 1918 rudder flashes. Part 3 of US Navy Finishes and Markings 1911-1926 presents rare photos and three stunning colour profiles of the Curtiss AB-5 and a pair of F Boats in full USN regalia. On other pages: metal fittings on wooden aircraft-sketches from an original 1931 AP1107; readers' models in colour with some great Jasta 5 Albatosse; 20th aniversay news page; Guillow's Bristol Bullet; WWI aviation movies on DVD; 'Mag Men' 1:48 scratchbuilts plus all the latest news and books. Among many other kits reviewd in this edition : Eduard 1:48 Albatros D.V and Profipack Bristol Fighter; Roden SE5a and Marcos Savoia Pomilio SP3 - both 1:48. We look at a 1:72 scale DFW T28 Flea,Heller's reboxing of the Airfix Roland  C.II and conclude with a review of the CSM resin Sopwith Dolphin to round off another classic edition.

THIS issue is something of a 'Camel Camelcade' and kicks off with Bruce Robertson's learned look at Camel colours  1917-1918. In seven pages he records the introduction of camouflage; manufacturers' and squadron markings; presentation markings as well as night-fighters and international Camels. With over 14 archive images and three colour profiles of British, Polish and Belgian examples, there's also a page of national markings 1914-1918 along with colour photos of doped WWI original fabric swatches and a table of Methuen, FS and BS colour reference numbers.  In addition there are detailed kit reviews of the revised Hobbycraft Sopwith Camels in 1:32 scale which are a quantum leap over their original versions. There are two boxings and each contain a generous selection of decal options. Also in this issue's Products, we take a close look at the Roden 1:72 scale 2F.I Ship's Camel with its excellent detail and multiple parts. On other pages: Colin Owers presents Part 3 of his US Navy Finishes series with emphasis on the Curtiss N-9 and the introduction of Navy Gray plus unit markings. Over a dozen rare photos and exquisite profiles of three Curtiss Boats by Juanita Franzi gracing the rear cover.Other noteworthy features include a look at the Guillow's balsa and tissue Bristol Scout flying model kit from 1960 and reviews of some classic WWI aviation movies available on DVD such as Hells Angels and the more recent The Aviator both with Howard Hughes taking centre-stage! Elsewhere is a specially extended Gallery-in addition to the regular column on the inside front cover-showcasing ten 1:48 scale scratch-builts of all the entrants for the fictive'Great Air Race of 1910' inspired by the classic movie Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines. It's an incredible piece of work 18 months in the making. All our regular features appear and Products reviews a number of new Eduard kits including the OAW-built Fokker D.VII in 1:48 and a 1:72 D.VII,the fifth release of this classic by Roden.
