WINDSOCK International Vol.11, No.1

WINDSOCK International Vol.11, No.1

TWO plans features in the Jan/Feb 1995 issue that could not be more different! First we have 1:72 scale drawings of the famous Bessonneau hangar-backdrop to so many period photos-together with the editor's close -up photos of a rare survivor at RAF Halton before it was dismantled:it  is now in New Zealand having been saved for posterity by a generous benefactor.... Our second plans feature  is by Peter M Grosz who profiles the remarkable Otto B and C type pusher biplanes of pre- and early war years presenting two dozen rare photos from  his unrivalled collection-1:72 scale plans for both versions are provided by Ian Stair. On other pages we have a photo report on the 1994 IPMS Nationals followed by Tony Clements describing his prize winning 1:24 scale scratchbuilt Brandenburg W.20 seaplane fighter before moving on to a real WWI fairy tale. This time it's the fabled stories behind the legend of the Seven Swabians immortalized for WWI fans by a certain colourfully- marked Fokker D.VII.This issue also includes over ten pages of readers' letters, book, kit and decal reviews and closes with a look at the Hansa Brandenburg C.I in Polish service by Wojeich Sankowski who also presents a pair of colour profiles  Other colour pages illustrate Austro- Hungarian and German instruments  and four contemporary aeronautical postcards. Three copies of this issue  remain -all in fairly good condition.
