WIND-SOCK Vol. 1,No.3,AUTUMN 1985

Our last remaining issue of WIND-SOCK Autumn 1985 and the first ever edition properly printed as opposed to the original Xeroxed versions. From little acorns... Some great early features with Aeroskin kits; Rumpler C.IV colour paint chips and 1918 capture report with detailed airframe sketches; book and kit reviews plus a Revell 1:72 scale conversion for Guynemer's iconic Nieuport  17 with vintage adverts galore.

This is our sole remaining copy of WIND-SOCK Volume 1, No.3 for Autumn 1985 and the very first properly- printed edition thanks to ex-Scale Models typesetters Multiform of Cardiff and  local printer Peacock of Berkhamsted and the rest is history-or so I'm told...This 28 pager opens with a nostalgic look at the Aeroskin ranges of 1:72 and 1:48 tissue-covered skeletal models of 1966 followed by Logbook where we take a look at Squadron/Signal's SE5a monograph,some Greenhill classic post-WWI reprints: Aces and Kings and the much discussed Death in the Air with its fake combat photos...Guynemer's Nieuport 17 is featured in an easy conversion project and Fabric covers the Rumpler C.IV with a pair of mixed paint chips approximating to two of the three-tone upper surface camouflage dopes whilst Toolbench discusses a way around struts and fittings. The original 1918 Flight/Ministry of Munitions illustrated report on captured Rumpler C.8500/17 takes care of the next seven pages and contains many line sketches drawn from life. There are kit reviews of the  Czechmaster Salmson 2A2 ,early Americal/Gryphon decals and new Humbrol enamels plus plenty of adverts ancient and modern that present a nostalgic flavour to the content. The copy is only very slightly creased and would suit collectors and completists...
