HEADING up a packed issue is George Haddow with the 14th instalment of his  popular Austro-Hungarian Naval aeroplane survey-this time it's the Mickl Type S31-S60 flying boats with seven rare wartime archive photos,1:72 scale plans and a colour page of profiles from Bob Pearson that also includes images of a preserved rudder.For fans of the Albatros C.XII there's a page of 1:72 scale plans by Marty Digmayer illustrating the rare eight-cylinder D.IV- engined third prototype and other drawings by Marty in this issue showcase the Fokker Dr.I in 1:48 for the new Eduard kits and Ian Stair weighs in with a 1:72 scale centrespread of the de Havilland DH3 twin-engined bomber. On other pages, Les Rogers has the fifth part of his RE8 markings series with 16 photos of 'Harry Tates' serving with Nos.42,52 and 53 Squadrons-Bob Pearson provides the requisite colour profiles on the rear covers.As well as all the regular columns we have three pages of kit reviews with a special look at the reissued Revell Nieuport 28 for which we supply colour close-ups of a restored example in the USA and there's two photos of an Albatros C.XII in Russian markings. Finally,cover artist Allan Forbes comes up with a thought-provoking thesis on mixing authentic German camouflage paints providing a page of colour swatches and a Junkers J.I camouflage planform by Ronny Bar.
