*GENUINE WWI FRENCH AEROPLANE COLOUR COVER PHOTO!

Ground-breaking 1943 Harborough-published  WWI camouflage and markings book offers some amazing artwork by C Rupert Moore, whilst the Hendon 'Ninak' is intimately photographed in close-up over two  colour pages: DH9A scale plans and markings data also feature. Harry Woodman covers the guns and bombs carried by Sopwith Camels with his own excellent drawings and sketches. There are more exclusive genuine early areroplane colour photos and apart from the rare French Farman F.50 twin-engined bomber on the cover, even earlier autochromes  portray a pair of pre-war German tauben! Stacks of kit reviews, some superb models from readers and a lively post bag make for yet another great collectors' edition!

THE July/August 2004 issue contains yet more exclusives that are the hallmark of our unique WINDSOCK publication! First,we take a look at the pioneering book published in 1943 (!) on WWI colours and markings with its excellent colour illustrations by C Rupert Moore: then Bruce Robertson presents part 2 of his detailed analysis describing DH9A colours with rare photos, 1:72 scale detailed plans; along with the editor's colour photo walk-around of the RAF Museum Ninak displayed at Hendon. Harry Woodman looks at various ordnance and armament carried by Camels in wartime service with some of his great drawings showing over-wing gun mounts, bombs and carriers, landing lights and more with archive imagery and colour close-up details of the IWM Culley Camel with its twin Lewis arrangement.

There are more rare colour autochromes in this issue, apart from the stunning Farman bomber on the front cover, there are also pre-war images of early German Tauben ! Kit reviews aplenty-a bumper crop this time around-and there's a full-size scratch-built Fokker D.VII cockpit made by a German enthusiast. Another packed issue with plenty for WWI modellers to enjoy...
