Elsewhere,Alberto Casirati uncovers some colourful Italian Nieuport 'babes' and there are six packed pages of the latest kits, decals and accessories released in the first few months of 2000!

ANOTHER GREAT PLANS FEATURE FROM DOWN UNDER!

Truly unique! Australia's fully restored Dyak-powered Avro 504K  A3-4 is our main photo feature for this issue with 1:72 and 1:48 scale plans all presented by the indefatigable Colin A Owers. Russian National Markings 1914-1920 are surveyed by Harry Woodman featuring over 20 rare images together with unique Nieuport and SPAD colour profiles on the inner rear cover. Toko' s1:72 scale Nieuport 11 is given the super-detail treatment by Italian master modeller Alberto Casirati and we have  plenty of detailed kit and accessory reviews, plus an exclusive preview of a new range of WWI acrylic paints for German aircraft model fans!

FREEZY FOKKERS AND FISHY NIEUPORTS!

Among the many highlights of this July/August edition are a scratchbuilt 1:72 scale Gotha WD.7 seaplane from polycard and a trip with a pair of Fokker D.VIIs to Iceland in 1932!  The rear cover features a rare colour Pfalz WWI advertisment from 1918; there is yet more SPAD 13 plumage and  a hyper-detailed build log for a resin Polish Friedrichshafen G.III. bomber. Elsewhere, we present a very special true scale Nieuport photo feature; a superb R/C Biff from Oz; Russian pre-war military air trial entrants with really rare images, plus over ten pages of kit, decal and accessory reviews that include a special colour-supported piece on the Pegasus 1:72 scale RAF BE2e. Several book reviews with all the latest news and reader feedback add to the mix!

EAGLES,FALCONS AND SAMLS!

Alberto Casirati initiates a unique new series: 'Camouflage and Markings of Italian Two-seaters' beginning with the attractive SAML biplanes of 1916. Ten photos and a contemporary sketch accompany the text. Jack Bruce contibutes four pages of original factory drawings  and data for Rolls Royce Eagle and Falcon engines of WWI from his files, whilst Tom Doherty gets in close with his camera to the newly-restored VAS Nieuport 28 that graces this issue's cover. Our Antholgy 2 on the Fokker D.VII is picked over by Dave Roberts and Alex Imrie in a lively and candid debate and there are over nine pages of  new books and kits released over the Summer. Readers' models and a rare 1918 period Pfalz advertising poster close out this great edition.

HIGH-LEVEL HALBERSTADT!

One of the lead articles in this issue is an amazing super-detailed build log of the Blue Max 1:48 scale Halberstadt CL.II with some fabulous colour photos adorning the rear cover. The modeller responsible is master craftsman Tom Morgan  and the degree of extra detail and careful camouflage reproduction he's put in is  real eye candy! We also have part two of Alberto's Italian two-seater colours series, this time showcasing  Pomilio biplanes, and Harry Woodman takes a very close look at the famous French Voisin III  pushers with rare images and his own exemplary drawings. Over nine pages of detailed kit, book and decal reviews emphasize the healthy WWI-orientated marketplace whilst we catch a glimpse of the extraordinary multi- colour camouflage worn by Ansaldo A-1 fighters with original flying surfaces in colour!
