THE ART OF WAR!

WWI French artist in the field Henry Farre produced some epic contemporary aviation paintings following personal visits to Front Line airfields-seven of his very best are reproduced on the outer covers with the full inside story by Harry Woodman. The first IPMS Nats to be held at Telford yielded many WWI entrants-14 of which are showcased in colour on the inner cover and there's some rare HB W29 images in Archive. Also in this issue, Alberto Casirati super-details Revell's venerable 1:72 scale Nieuport 28 to great effect and there are over ten pages of kit reviews with some fabulous French models in 1:48 scale! On the last two pages we have the fourth in our Decor Debut series with rare photos and a pair of colour profiles depicting a pair of exotoic Hanriot HD.1 fighters.  

BIG 'NINAK' LEADS THE WAY!

The opener for this 36 pager is by master modeller John Alcorn describing his scratch-building of a superb 1:24 scale AMC DH9A  with full colour images on the outer covers:John offers many invalauble tips and tricks to inspire!  The  combined forces of JMB,GSL and CAO bring us an ultra-rare French Wibault Wib C.I fighter plans feature, that includes 1:48 and 1:72 GAs, whilst Gary Sunderland traces the history of early German 'Sky' camouflage. On other pages Joel Christy hand builds an  AW FK.3  from an ice cream tub-honestly- and we showcase pre-WWI German Tauben colour postcards. All this and more plus the usual detailed product reviews including 1:48 scale kits from CSM and Pegasus-with decals and accessories too...

Heading up this colourful edition is Steve Rutland describing his comprehensive build of the first of many Eduard 1:48 scale Albatros D.III releases. Special Fabric photo features  is from Colin Owers  who presents rare photos and 1:72  scale drawings of the American Curtiss  HS-1L and HS-2L flying boats with five sparkling colour profiles from Juanita Franzi on the inside covers. Colin also takes a peek at Spanish 'Tinsyde F4 markings whilst Tim Kelly provides large image close-in photos of a captured Fokker D.VII taken at the Boeing factory post-war. All the usual popular WS features including an extensive Products review column that takes a close look at over a dozen new kits including four 1:48 scale fighters from Eduard and a couple of Sopwiths from CSM! Colin Owers presents his unique Curtiss MF plans feature that includes photos with 1:48 and 1:72 scale general arrangement drawings and there's a hyprer-detailed illustrated build review of the Toko 1:72 scale Pfalz D.XII by Tom Wictor. We continue the popular WWI plastic kit A-Z listings with Part 25 covering Fokkers; Friedrichafens; and Gothas. Archive colour photos illustrate  Breguet 14 and Hansa Brandenburg D.I survivors in close-up and some rare Pfalz factory decals on genuine D.XII rudder fabric come under close scrutiny with colour images.
