FLIGHT OF THE KONDORS!

2006 IPMS Nationals WWI winners' snapshots in colour head up this edition with a novel 1:48 scale Albatros Dr. I Triplane conversion  incorporating one Eduard D.V with a resin wing set. Lengthy plans  feature from Peter Grosz profiles the diminutive Kondor D.I/D.2  experimental fighters of 1918 with  1:48 and 1:72  scale drawings of both types by Colin Owers. Harry Woodman relates the saga of  captured Friedrichshafen FF33 floatplane Marine Number 698 in Russia, whilst on other pages we have RE5/ and RE7 photo/drawing data  from JMB/GSL files. To coincide with publication of DATAFILE No.67 Jack Bruce provides  AW FK8 component photos from the Armstrong Whitworth original parts' catalogue showing many intimate aspects of the 'Big Ack'. Elsewhere is a bumper  A-Z of WWI model kits with six pages of detailed listings and nostalgic illustrations of Fokker D.VII model kits-little and large! Extensive coverage of the German Friedrichshafen G.II bomber with over 20 rare photos from Pete Grosz with many showing cockpit internals, gun positions and bombs and backed up with 1:72 scale drawings.  All vital and unique reference for Tom Wictor's  candid and comprehensive  four page model build of the Skybirds '86 G.II resin kit! Elsewhere, the Kondor D.VI experimental biplane fighter of 1918 is drawn by Colin Owers with more PMG Collection images; Harry Woodman looks at contemporary capture reports of a Gotha WD.7 plus there's a spread of 200-hp. CONCLUDING THIS YEAR'S RUN!

For the last edition of 1997 we have Part 22 of The Windsock A-Z of scale WWI aeroplanes covering Fokker E.V/D.VII fighters from Marcos Miniatures to Kelloggs with many more in between.  Robert Karr describes his amazing 1:48 Nieuports at Toul diorama and Bruce Robertson covers all the captured German aircraft  that fell into British hands, given specific G numbers and carefully studied and reported upon. One prime example was Hannover C.13199/17 and we have reprinted the original Ministry report over six pages including many photos and sketches of the airframe. Elsewhere we have a short 'Big Ack Archive', Harry Woodman looks at a German self-destruct device and all the regular columns appear with the latest books and decals. This issue's Products reviews the Lone Star 1:48 Junkers J-1; Hippo Macchi M-5; another Pfalz D.III from Eduard in Voss' colours and a detailed analysis of the Blue Max Camel.
