THE FOKKER TRIPLANE, 1992

ALEX IMRIE'S FINEST HOUR!

THE 1992 Fokker Triplane monograph that has attained almost mythic status and well-deserved as it remains one of the best books ever written about a WWI fighter aeroplane. 128 packed pages, meticulously researched and written with gravitas and authority by Alex Imrie who needs no introduction to WWI aircraft devotees. Over 160 photos from the author's own unrivalled collection, the result of many years' personal research in post WWII Germany interviewing ex-Jasta pilots and service personnel. Our copy has small tape repairs to its cover papers but is otherwise in excellent condition.

WELL-thumbed copy of Alex Imrie's seminal work on the immortal Fokker Dr.I Triplane so beloved of historians, artists, modellers, replica builders and movie makers over many decades. Published by Arms & Armour Press in 1992, this outstanding 128 page hardback is as good as it gets and will remain the standard history of the nimble fighter made famous by leading German Kanone of 1917/1918 being particularly synonymous with Rittm. Manfred von Richthofen whose blood red aircraft remains an eternal symbol of the war. There are over 160 photos featured, each accompanied by exceptionally well-informed and meticulously-researched captions that provide the reader with an un-matched level of accuracy. Our copy has been well-used over the years when producing our own Triplane studies and  been the natural key source for cross-checking photo nuances and background data. The outer covers have suffered somewhat from use and been repaired with 'magic' tape in some places. Otherwise, the pages themselves remain in great condition.
