TAUBE,DOVE OF WAR
THIS is one of the best books ever written on the early Taube designs and is a packed 84 page survey of these iconic bird wing aircraft that were a common sight in pre-WWI skies and in the early war years. Crammed with photos and sketches, plus detailed scale drawings of the Etrich Taube as well as an A-Z of Tauben from Albatros through to Zeigler, this is an absorbing and highly recommended pictorial compendium that will delight all modellers building one of these iconic aircraft. This 1978 softback was an example of 'Perfect Binding' where the leading edges of the folios are glued directly to the spine, a technique that was far from 'perfect' as many book collectors will attest. This well used copy (pre-owned by Harry Woodman) is a good example of the detached page syndrome many such books present but all pages are complete and in no way detract from the unique content this excellent book provides. The copy is unique in other ways-Harry has added a few marginal notes as well as some rare Taube -related cuttings and the original author's errata slip is is also included.
