ON POLISH WINGS-FOKKER D.VIII

POLISHED RAZOR!

An excellent all encompassing pictorial record of the Fokker D.VIII/E.V in Polish air service after WWI. With over 130 rare archive images and over two dozen pages of superb colour profiles this is an extraordinary survey of the late war Fokker Parasol fighter following its limited service in WWI. An absolute goldmine of information and we have a few copies in mint condition.

WRITTEN and researched by top Polish aero historian Tomasz  J Kopanski, this lavish 80 page soft-back chronicles the service history of the Fokker E.V/D.VIII in Polish service following the Armistice. No 25 in the acclaimed Polish Wings series published by Stratos, the monograph provides many fascinating insights into the Fokker's post WWI activities, 16 having been delivered to the Polish Air Force in 1919. The book contains over 135 excellent photos, many previously unpublished, and stunning colour profiles by Janusz Swiatlon-there are no less than 26 pages of them including 20 side profiles and three spreads of upper and lower plan views showing wing camouflage patterns. Each are supported by detailed captions that reveal how sometimes colours and markings evolved on a particular airframe. Text is in English throughout and presents a truly unique and informative account of the type, its pilots, units and combat successes. Grzegorz Mazwuroski presents a fascinating treatise on colours and markings and the superb cover art by Artur Jaszczak is beautifully done. We have a small number of these superb titles in store-absolute treasures for anyone building models of the E.V /D.VIII  seeking colourful alternatives for wartime Jasta aircraft.
