No 68 in the late, lamented pioneering Profile Publications series was Frank Strnad's detailed monograph on the American Thomas Morse scouts that performed so well in the fighter trainer role during 1917-1918. With 24 photos and a dozen colour illustrations, this booklet is a concise and authentic record of this popular type. After the war the Tommy saw extensive service with Hollywood movie studios and stood in as WWI fighters for such epics as Hells Angels and The Dawn Patrol-both versions! Over a dozen survive to this day and most have been lovingly restored by their owners. This example of Profile No 68 is a tad worn but content is complete.
