No.43,THE PFALZ D.III

SILVER BIRD!

Peter L Gray relates the history and development of the Pfalz D.III fighter with 30 period photos and an excellent selection of colour profiles on inner covers illustrating eight examples of this popular subject. Our 1965 copies are in good condition with slight wear on the spine and a few creases but complete. One of the best of the WWI Profile Publications the author includes colours and markings data with assistance from an uncredited Alex Imrie-see the three page document in the description...

ONE of the most attractive fighter designs of WWI, the slim line Pfalz D.III with its trademark silber finish is a perennial favourite with modellers and it's not hard to see why. Peter L Gray relates the history of this gracile machine contributing 30 archive images and one contemporary factory drawing of the prototype. Great colour art graces the inner covers and our 1965-dated copies remain in good condition with some minor crease. Until the release of The Blue Max in cinemas a year later, few outside the small coterie of WWI aero enthusiasts had ever heard of the Pfalz but its prominent role in the film changed all that. This Profile was perfectly timed for modellers of contemporary Guillows, Aurora and Renwal kits.
