CAPTIVATING CAPRONI!
AN astonishing brass-etched 1:48 scale model kit of Italy's renowned tri-motored Caproni Ca.3 bomber of 1915.* Comprises three large PE sheets of wing, fuselage, boom and tail-plane frames that are designed for covering in thin tissue coloured to approximate clear-doped fabric and best secured with Pritt Stick adhesive. There's plenty of white metal parts such as the three engines, airscrews and fuel tanks together with rubber tyres and mixed materials to complete the model. Plenty of cockpit detail is provided along with two brass-turned searchlights. Full instructions complete the content. AJP kits did not supply decals so we have sourced 1:48 scale markings from another Ca.3 kit -with accompanying profiles-plus a 1:72 scale sheet that can be PC-scanned to 150% and printed onto commercial clear decal material for DIY printing.

THIS ground-breaking 1:48 scale 1915 Caproni Ca.3 bomber kit from AJP Maquettes is mostly of brass etch construction with a good number of white metal parts plus linen-coloured tissue to cover the bare-boned structure. Of all the many pre-WWI and wartime aircraft the adventurous French company ever released, this one remains the most comprehensive and it's certainly the largest. Content includes three large PE sheets providing the wings; tail-plane; fuselage nacelle; booms; struts and many cockpit appointments. As well as the covering tissue, there's three white metal engines with their separate manifolds; two airscrews and one propeller; main fuel tanks; Lewis machine guns; rubber tyres; thin wood veneer; piano and copper wire; wood blocks; elastic cord and a pair of turned brass searchlights. The 54-page heavily illustrated instruction book provides a colour-coded rigging chart and comprehensive building notes.
*None of these AJP kits came with decals and the big Ca.3 is no exception. However, we have included a 1:72 ex-Meikraft sheet that could be scaled up to 1:48 by 150%, scanned using a PC,and printed off onto commercial decal film. In addition,we have provided genuine 1:48 markings in two sections from another kit that we have especially printed this way, together with two xeroxed pages of colour profiles in support.
This is a complex kit suitable for experienced builders and with care can be built into an excellent and authentic model. All contents are complete and in good condition inside the somewhat flimsy box that AJP favoured so we have taken extra care to protect the model for mailing.
