This packed new publication provides the ultimate modelling guide to building, detailing and finishing the 1:24 and 1:32 scale Fokker Dr.I kits released by Meng Models (ex-Wingnut Wings) in 2020/2021!

Contents include:

Representing F.I 103/17 on the day Ltn.Werner Voss was shot down with revised colours and markings, weathering and repairs and all supported by archive photos and detailed captions.

OVER 20 colour all-new profiles by Ronny Bar provide detailed artwork for 19 individual Jasta triplanes including a multi-view centre-spread and all four of Meng's 1:24 scale decal options are presented in their correct colours and markings. Juanita Franzi provides stellar fully-updated four-view artwork on the rear covers illustrating typical camouflage, serial and stencil applications along with expanded notes.(All main colour artwork in the book has been reproduced to 1:32 scale).

Ray Rimell builds two 1:32 scale Meng Dr.I examples; one being an early version in the markings of Paul Baumer’s DR.I 204/17 and a late version flown by Jasta 14 in 1918. Step-by-step photos feature in each guide and are backed by special archive photo sections.

The model of DR.I 425/17 in Volume 1has been reworked to represent the iconic Red Baron triplane in its penultimate April 1918 appearance.

From The Vintage Aviator Ltd., in New Zealand, come great colour close-up details of their reproduction Le Rhone and Oberursel rotary engines to provide vital reference.

The 1:24 scale Meng Triplane in Jasta 14 markings is given the in-depth treatment by Ray in a 25-page heavily-illustrated build log adding extra detail and modifications as required. The author also shows how to apply commercial-available streaked decals to the models' uppersurfaces.

Thanks to the generosity of several historians,a section of Dr.I  archive photos are presented many of which are published for the very first time.Generous proportions allow for many invaluable details to be discovered.

The 76-page book concludes with an illustrated addenda to Volume I with further aspects of the aircraft hitherto unrecorded...

For serious modellers of the Fokker Triplane this is another vital resource and will also appeal to a broader spectrum of WWI enthusiasts including historians, flying scale fans, artists and repro’ builders.
