This 1979 edition of the Guillow's classic is in tip-top condition and includes all the balsa parts and strip; tissue covering and decals; vacformed plastic parts and hard polystryrene wheel halves; required to complete a fine flying scale model of the classic Thomas Morse S4C Scout of 1918. One of their most popular kits of the time and we are able to offer this single mint example to our customers....
ABSOLUTELY mint 1979 example of Guillow's kit No.201,the American THOMAS MORSE S4C SCOUT;it's mint because we had to remove the original and intact cello-wrap box covering to enable us to photograph the contents-apologies collectors! This splendid WWI scale model flyer spans two feet on completion making it approx. 7/8'' to the Foot in scale. First issued in 1958,this specimen of the 'Tommy' contains the usual printed high quality die-cut balsa sheets of fuselage formers and wing ribs plus generous amounts of strip wood to build the frames over the full-size plans included. The box also contains a plastic airscrew ready-fitted to the wire shaft and nose plug, plus plastic wheel halves; rubber motor; plywood die-cut engine former to fit a miniature glow or diesel powerplant; rubber 'motor' ; dark green tissue covering material and a sharply-printed decal sheet for a typical 1918 training aircraft. Full scale details and painting guides are incorporated into the plan sheet and the kit also contains a large vacform plastic sheet featuring engine,Lewis gun and pilot halves-plus the distinctive 'Tommy' cowling.
