GUILLOW'S FLYING RAZOR BLADE!
Blast from the past! Here's another from the classic mini series of 12 small WWI flying scale Guillow's balsa models of the 1960s! With a wingspan of just 18 inches and a length of 12.5 inches on assembly, this vintage kit comes with full-size modelling plans, scale drawings, instruction notes with plenty of balsa strip wood, die-cut fuselage formers and wing ribs plus covering tissue, a decal sheet, plastic injection-moulded cowling, wheels, airscrew and a two-piece lightweight vacformed pilot! These kits can be made into great little static models ,but they were designed for rubber power (the long-since perished band is the only part missing from this example) but can be adapted for small .010 glow gas motors, electric or Co2 power. The detailed plans also include templates for all die cut parts, plus scale airscrew-not supplied. The scale is approximately 5/8 ins. to the foot.
I did build one of these when I was a callow youth- for rubber power- but it needed some distinctly untypical wing dihedral for stable free-flight operation!
