GUILLOW'S ALBATROS D5A!

ALBATROS! ALBATROS!

This old stager is in good nick despite its long gestation in our loft space. Everything included as it was in 1957 except for the tissue covering. Otherwise this highly-collectible flying scale model is in VGC!

Here's a really elderly Guillow's flying scale model dating from 1957! One of the first in the small scale series of WWI balsa kits, this is a somewhat corpulent version of the German Albatros D.Va which aside from the usual sheets of die-cut parts, balsa strip and decals comes with vacform nose ring and spinner; a pair of plastic wheels; metal winder; hardwood nose plug and the original rubber band although I cannot vouch for its elasticity after so many years in storage! The only thing this kit does lack is any tissue covering-hence the price adjustment-but lightweight aeromodelling tissue is available from specialist outlets which a quick Google search will reveal. Another great addition to the series and a true pioneer of the genre. With a wingspan of 18" and a length of 14",the scale is approximately 5/8'' to the foot.
