GERMAN BOMBERS OF WORLD WAR ONE fotofax

HEAVY HITTERS OF WWI!

Yet another fabulous photo album by Alex Imrie to cover the German bomber designs of WWI some of which were highly successful and proved important assets for the German air arms in the Great War. This well-written monograph contains over 80 photos, detailed specs and a small number of original contemporary drawings.

German Bombers of World War One by Alex Imrie was published in 1990 by Arms and Armour Press as one of their popular Vintage Aviation fotofax series of pictorial early aviation studies. This soft-back title contains over 80 rare images carefully selected by the author culled from his unrivalled photographic collection of German WWI aircraft. From Ltn. Canter's 1913 primitive Taube with its meagre bomb load to the mighty reisenflugzeuge of 1918, Alex expertly traces the history of Germany's multi-engined bombers in an eclectic series of rare images that showcase the Gothas, the AEGs and the Friedrichshafens and many others which were true pioneers of strategic bombing on civilian targets as well as military ones. Some fabulous photos set this one apart-a great monograph in good condition-one only.
