Great little vintage hardback with colour views of 80 classic WWI fighters and trainers of WWI. This 1971 second edition by Kenneth Munson was the first in what proved to be the popular Blandford Colour Seies of handbooks that covered a wide spectrum of aviation history with their unique colour artworks.184 pages with technical descriptions and colour notes. Written by Kenneth Munson and published in 1971 by Blandford Press, a revised second edition of the original 1968 Blandford Colour Series of period aeroplanes.This little hardback of 184 pages,96 of which are in full colour, presents 80 subjects to a full side profile and split upper/lower planforms. Each aircraft is given an historical description and Ian Huntley's Appendices provide detailed colour notes and annotated sketches. These books, and many others that followed in similar vein,caused quite a stir when first published and although some of the presentations have been superseded in later years, are useful and concise titles to have at hand. Most all combatant nations' aeroplanes are covered here and include several upgraded artworks from the first edition. In good condition with fading of the spine as illustrated.
