Austro-Hungarian air ace Freidrich Hefty of Flik 28 claimed that the Berg D.I ..'in its final form was the equal of the SPAD..' This aircraft in its various series permutations was indeed one of the best LFT fighters to serve in WWI. Peter M Grosz provides a fulsome history with over rare 60 photos from his extensive archive. Steve Simkin contributes nine pages of highly detailed multi-view drawings in the two popular scales,whilst a special six page section contains many close-up photos of engine installations,cockpits and armament fit.This packed DF also includes the official 1918 Air Ministry report on D.I 138.267 together with 16 sketches that present- day modellers will find invaluable when building the many kits available of this famous fighter. The book has slight browning around its cover edges but is complete.
