THIS stunning artwork was painted by Brian Knight GAvA in 1982 as a commissioned cover design for Corgi Books' best-selling Nightfighter  written by Sqdn. Ldr. C F Rawnsley and Robert Wright with a Foreword by Group Captain John 'Cat's Eyes' Cunningham.

This is the original artwork which has been professionally framed, sans glass, and depicts a dramatic encounter over the British Isles when 'Cat's Eyes' Cunningham of No.604 Squadron RAF flying a Bristol Beaufighter Mk.1F  brought  down a Luftwaffe  Heinkel He 111 bomber.

The painting [including its wood frame] measures 500mm x 420mm and has the original glass removed as a result of a crack. For those wishing to re-glaze-preferably with a non-reflective glass-the precise inside dimensions are 471mm x 380mm...
