ARDPOL HALBERSTADT C.V-1:72
In 2001,the Polish Ardpol company released another of their intricate high class limited-production 1:72 scale resin kits in the form of the Halberstadt C.V German two-seater aircraft of 1918. As with all the Ardpol 1:72 scale kits, the delicate detail overall is high class, the content certainly comprehensive and the major components accurate in outline throughout. The cockpit detail contains multiple precision parts with a one-piece 220hp Benx BZ IV motor bearing exquisite detail that repays careful painting before adding the Rhino-horn vertical exhaust stack. These kits are not for inexperienced modellers and the number of perfectly formed and delicate parts warrant very careful handling during painting and assembly. There are no photo etch parts and none are needed as virtually everything you need is in the box. The three main wing panels are taped to stout card preserving their shape and the kit comes with exploded construction views and drawings. The decal sheet provides well-printed markings for one German and one Polish aircraft although the modeller will need to source the four-and five-colour lozenge to complete the finish. The C.V, like most other Ardpol WWI resin kits, has long sold out and this rare example is complete in near mint other than a sellotaped 'repair' to the lower left box corner.
