AIRFIX MAGAZINE July 1969
£8.00
COPIES of the seminal July 1969 edition of the classic AIRFIX Magazine published during the boom time of post war modelling with it's eclectic content and multiple contemporary adverts:who remembers looking at the back cover first to see what BMW Models' latest stock additions were? This packed edition began the much quoted Paul Leaman guide to the Fokker Triplane-ground-breaking at the time-with four pages of historical notes, scale drawings, photos and a colour paint chart-sheer nostalgia... Amongst all the various current aircraft, model ship, railway and military features, there was Bruce Robertson's colours piece on Handley Page O/400 night bombers;converting the Airfix Old Bill 1:32 scale bus into a mobile pigeon loft; and details of WWI British Army regiments. Bursting with contemporary kit reviews and plenty of 1960's advertising this is a delightful trip down memory lane for modellers of a 'certain age'. Two copies available, both slightly foxed and browned, but complete.
