AG No.6-DH82 TIGER MOTH

THE 'TIGGIE'

The classic wartime pre-war training biplane and going strong after all these years with dozens of examples still flying in the world offering joy rides and instruction to those flying club members lucky enough to get their hands on one! Our final Aeroguides Classics volume offers a full image-rich record of this de Havilland biplane that served with the RAF for many years. Some were fitted with skis, some with floats, others converted to four-seaters with cabins whilst converted 'Tiggies' have  popped up in many aviation films over the years to double as portray WWI biplanes-British and German! This perennially popular aircraft has been a modellers fave for years especially flying scale enthusiasts who have flown large scale versions up to half size-they are all as nimble and stable as their full-size brethren confirming the sound design qualities of the original. If ever there was the perfect trainer aeroplane ever designed, it has to be the immortal De Havilland DH 82 Tiger Moth which still enjoys great appeal  with flying clubs and aeroplane restoration teams all over the world. This sixth Aeroguide-and the last of the sadly curtailed series-profiles this classic biplane design with myriad photos that fully capture the essence of the type. There are over over 85 of these with 54  being revealing close-ups showcasing 'Tiggie' airframe details:engine and cowling; control runs and cockpits; gravity tank; undercarriage and wheels; rigging and more. In addition there is a superb centre-spread cutaway by Tonv Barnes fully annotated with details of structure and fuselage interior. Other line drawings provide internal fuel supply; official de Havilland rigging diagram; undercarriage shock absorber and four pages of 1:72 scale monotone drawings showing a typical 1940-1941 RAF camouflage pattern together with with 15 profiles depicting a wide variety of markings-civil and military. On the rear cover is a full colour side view of a Royal Navy trainer based at HMS Siskin in 1946-1950. We have a few signed copies of this excellent monograph available all in good condition with only slight creasing.
