THE TRUE THOROUGHBRED!

The Mk.V Spits are covered in this image-rich publication that presents over 60 monotone photos of wartime examples and candid close-ups of the Shuttleworth Collections AR501 taken in 1985 when it still sported clipped wings. These particular images form an historical record in their own right quite apart from their value to the legions of  Spitfire modellers! Plenty of line drawings depict airframe details, ordnance and undercarriage schematics plus a full two page cutaway with much interior detail shown. Further line drawings offer five different markings' schemes and the rear cover has a full colour side portait of an overseas Mk.Vb in desert camouflage. 32 packed pages within card covers-we have only a small handful left now and all are in good condition, signed by author Ray Rimell.

THE ENIGMATIC EMIL!

If you thought the Spitfire was small then placed alongside, the Messerschmitt BF 109E is positively diminutive. This iconic German WWII fighter is carefully chronicled in this second Aeroguide Classic published in 1986 with over 72 archive and close up photos; six line sketches; three pages of monotone camouflage and markings profiles; a superb airframe cutaway spread over the centre pages and a colour profile on the rear cover depicting a late Battle of Britain participant. Our copies are a little yellowed in places with some minor staining on a few of the folios but it is complete. 32 A4 pages with card covers and signed by the author.

THE MIGHTY LANC!

Without a doubt the best known of all the RAF bombers that served during the Second World War, with Lanc squadrons taking on the German dams, the holed-up Tirpitz in Norway and  constant  nightly raids on industrial Germany at heavy cost. Today, a sole example flies in the UK maintained by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight-and it is their PA474 that takes centre-stage in this third Aeroguide Classic. Over 90 wartime and close-up images of the famous Lancaster, one at Coningsby, one in London, offer modellers excellent reference for their models. Also included are five line drawings,  a centre-spread cutaway by Tony Barnes; 1:144 camouflage schematics and five profiles to almost complete the coverage. with its enormous  Two copies of the book  remain in stock...

THE 'STRINGBAG'!

It may have looked antiquated, even by WWII standards, but the indomitable Fairey Swordfish torpedo bomber was tremendously successful in the early war years. Battle honours include the raid on the Italian surface battle fleet at Taranto and successful attacks on the German battleship Bismarck crippling her steering ability which ultimately led to her demise under the heavy guns of the Royal Navy. The Fleet Air Arm  Museum at RNAS Yeovilton have operated an airworthy Swordfish for many years now and it has become a regular and popular participant in Summer season air displays throughout the UK. The Royal Navy Historic Flight kindly made their prized possession feely available to Linewrights photographers to do a number of walk-arounds in 1988 which resulted in the unique pictorial coverage presented in this book.

THE CAMM CLASSIC!

Quite simply one of the best two-seater biplane of the pre-WWII era serving with the RAF. This spectacular Sydney Camm design spawned many derivatives most of which are included in this 36 page monograph. Packed with generous archive and close up photos with tone camouflage and markings profiles plus a  fully annotated centre spread cutaway of the Osprey floatplane by Tony Barnes this is essential reading for any modeller and aero enthusiast of these beautiful and colourful pre-war aircraft. The rear cover features a spectacular colour profile of K3779, a Hawker Demon Mk.I of No.608 Squadron, RAAF in 1938

THE 'TIGGIE'

The classic wartime pre-war training biplane and going strong after all these years with dozens of examples still flying in the world offering joy rides and instruction to those flying club members lucky enough to get their hands on one! Our final Aeroguides Classics volume offers a full image-rich record of this de Havilland biplane that served with the RAF for many years. Some were fitted with skis, some with floats, others converted to four-seaters with cabins whilst converted 'Tiggies' have  popped up in many aviation films over the years to double as portray WWI biplanes-British and German! This perennially popular aircraft has been a modellers fave for years especially flying scale enthusiasts who have flown large scale versions up to half size-they are all as nimble and stable as their full-size brethren confirming the sound design qualities of the original.
