96. Caudron G.4
THE second volume in Jon Guttman's study of the WWI French 'Lattice Tails', DATAFILE No.96 follows his previous study of the G.3 with this all-new title on its successor, the twin-engined version:the G.4's operational history is outlined in depth and supported by six pages of Marty Digmayer's exquisite 1:48 and 1:72 scale general arrangement drawings that cover prototype and French-built RNAS variants. As well as over 70 carefully selected wartime images, there are six pages of colour close-ups providing intimate details of the restored example owned by the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC that offer unrivalled reference for modellers-six further detail shots in monochrome are also included. The Caudron G.4 saw widespread service with French, Italian and British air services and equipped many units;as an observation machine and as a bomber, it was employed to surprisingly good effect as related in this book's 32 profusely illustrated pages. Includes colours and markings notes along with as extended colour views on the rear covers by series editor Ray Rimell.
