41. PFALZ D.XII
LATE-WAR PFALZ FIGHTER
ARTIST Brian Knight's evocative recreation of the downing of Ltn. Paul Vogel's Pfalz D.XII 2486/18 in September 1918 is the eye-catching opener to Peter M Grosz's acclaimed study of the classic Speyer factory-built design-a contemporary of the Fokker D.VII. Full operational and service histories are chronicled with the aid of many of the author's rare archive photographs that include Pfalz factory floor shots revealing the advanced building techniques employed. Ian Stair contributes detailed 1:72 and 1:48 drawings and additional close-up photos reveal airframe nuances of two preserved examples undergoing restoration. 1918 capture sketches are presented along with extended colour notes and three rear cover colour profiles by Ray Rimell. The content is completed by illustrated appendices and a list of survivors and model kits.
