FOUNDED in 1908,the German Luftfahrzeug Gesellschaft mbH (LVG) company produced a fairly long line of elegant single-seat fighter aircraft during WWI that, despite boasting several advanced design features, failed to achieve the success of the handsome Roland C.II Walfisch two-seaters that preceded them. In our 37th DATAFILE, published in January 1993, the late Peter M Grosz provided all the facts and figures, not to mention presenting over 75 of his rare archive images illustrating LFG's Roland D.VI-the very last Roland fighter to achieve production status in WWI. Among the many wartime images of the aircraft and its prototypes, there is a selection of close-up airframe, cockpit and armament details that will prove invaluable to model makers The book also contains 1:48 and 1:72 scale general arrangement drawings that illustrate the key differences between the D.VIa and D.VIb versions. Series editor Ray Rimell contributes the colours and markings overview along with three rear cover profiles depicting a trio of Roland D.VIb; two in Jasta 59 decor. Tabular data and a model kit survey close out this rare First Edition of which we have one remaining in good condition with a few minor cover creases..
