LAST COPY!
Surely one of the most well-known biplane training aircraft ever to enter service with the RFC and RAF, the Avro 504K is one of British aviation's immortals. In this classic DATAFILE from July 1991, Jack Bruce relates the history of the type in meticulous detail. In 36 pages may be found over 76 archive photos, more than 30 close-up details of the preserved E449 held by the Royal Air Force Museum, two pages of component sketches from the original 1918 'Schedule for the Avro 504K' plus detailed 1:48 and 1:72 scale drawings by Ian Stair across the centre pages. In addition there's a section on colours and markings: a contemporary rigging diagram; a list of surviving 504K airframes and a concise survey of model kits by series editor Ray Rimell who also contributes three colourful profiles on the back cover. This sole remaining copy is a rare first edition and in VGC with only slight yellowing of the outer laminated covers. As a bonus the book comes with a detailed article by Harry Woodman published in the May 2004 edition of Scale Aviation Modeller International-'Aspects of the Avro 504K' that provides a wealth of additional date, contemporary photos and drawings plus detailed modelling notes in the author's inimitable style!
