1:72 REVELL S.E.5A X 2, (4108),1980
SE5A DOUBLE PLUS EXTRA DECAL SETS!
THIS 1980 re-issue of the popular Revell SE5a contains TWO complete kits of the revised 2007 mouldings with extra parts-and both models are in mint condition. Our box-filling example comes with extra decal sheets that will provide eight colourful alternatives including SE5a fighters in Chilean; Russian and American services. These are from a MisterCraft 1:48 kit that inexplicably provided their double sheet in the smaller scale! Bad luck for those building this ex-Merit kit, but great for those modelling Revell versions. We have included the kit's expansive full-colour guide with multiple images of the aircraft and FS/RAL paint references for over 20 colours. With extra Revell decals too, this is a truly unique offer and only available from our store...
*CONTAINS EXTRA DECAL SETS!
FIRST issued in 1964 as one of three 1:72 scale 'Group 4' WWI aircraft models from Revell, the SE5a was a generally accurate little model despite having the exhaust pipes moulded to the fuselage and a few detail omissions. It represented a Viper-powered version with the deep angular radiator and has been reissued-and copied!-numerous times ever since: ours is from 1980,the olive drab mouldings retaining changes initiated by the 1974 'Collectors Choice' revamps with these new parts: four-bladed airscrew; Hispano-Suiza radiator and the LVG spinner for McCudden's famous B4891,the decal sheet depicted this aircraft and provided most all markings, although the 'cockades' were a little 'cockeyed' and the blue far too pale even allowing for fading and the small scale. There are two of these kits in the one box, both complete and both with their original decals and a single instruction leaflet.
*EXTRAS: Plenty of choice offering three bonus decal sheets including superb decals from the Revell 2007 issue with markings for B129 of No.111 Squadron and night-fighter C1802 of No.143 HDS. National colours are authentic and registration spot-on in this instance. Unique to our package are multiple decal options from the MisterCraft 1:48 scale Merit re-pop but which are actually 1:72,thus perfect for these Revell kits. The six colourful examples that come with full-colour painting guides* are:
1] D276, No.74 Sqdn., RAF flown by Major E Mannock, May 1918.
2] SE5a, Polish Air Force, 1920.
3] SE5a A 2-13, Royal Australian Flying Corps, 1920.
4] SE5a, Russian Central Air Group, August 1920.
5] SE5a 'Maule' in aluminium-doped finish, Chilean Fuerza Aerea Nacional, 1925.
6] SE5a, No.19, 25th Aero Squadron, USAS, 1920.
*This colour chart also includes an exhaustive table of FS and RAL colour codes for over 20 nations. Printed in matt finish, these two Czech decal sheets are very well-printed and offer an eclectic variety of liveries.
