WOODEN-WINGED WONDER!
From the Czech Republic, an excellent resin kit of the extraordinary 1916 LLOYD FJ prototype to 1:72 scale. Comes with PE, vacform windshield and decals. With its distinctive ply-covered wings and unusual configuration this is a great little project for any modeller with a passion for WWI Austro-Hungarian fighters!
This is a 1:72 scale resin kit from Planet Models (PLT 187) of the unique LLOYD FJ 40.05 Austro-Hungarian fighter prototype of 1916. In an attempt to provide the gunner with the widest arc of fire possible, the Lloyd designers designed a wing gap-filling fuselage for a standing occupant with the pilot seated behind in an open cockpit. Not surprisingly this effectively reduced most of his forward view and the design was not proceeded with, neither was a single seat version with over wing gun ' Baby Coffin'. Nevertheless with its ply covered fuselage and wings, the FJ makes for a stand-out model in any serious collection of 1:72 scale Dual Monarchy fighters and the Planet kit does the subject proud. Highly-detailed parts with PE detail parts;vacform windshield;cleanly-printed decals and graphic instructions. One only in VGC.
