1:72 OMEGA HANSA BRANDENBURG CC TRIPLANE

NOT YOUR AVERAGE TRIPLANE!

OMEGA's 2006 release of the 1916 Hansa Brandenburg CC triplane variant offered modellers the opportunity of adding a rare bird to their collection. The aircraft was more or less a standard CCI with modified wing cellule, increased wing gap, and reduced-area lower planes. This resin kit is in near mint condition with plenty of cockpit fittings, highly detailed Hiero powerplant and a wheeled beaching dolly for display. Decals provide markings for the sole example which require careful individual cutting from the backing sheet. *Bonus features include superior CCI decals plus two standing resin pilot figures in full flying gear!

AN experimental triplane development of the successful CCI that appeared in late 1916: only one was completed and bore unique Marine nummer A45. Typical 'star-struts' served the conversion well, with the central wings attached to the intersection, their roots fixed either side of the engine bearers. It retained the standard upper wing of the CCI but lower wing panels were reduced in area. Omega Models' Kit No.72-227 was released in 2006 and the content was exclusively resinous*. Overall, surface detail is realistic enough although wing rib detail may require a little reduction. The Hiero motor is broken down into several highly-detailed elements that include individual cylinders. Omega also provide a neat beaching dolly on which the completed model will comfortably perch.

Four-view GA drawings aid wing assembly whilst scrap views show cockpit detail plus colour call-outs for engine and Schwarzlose machine guns -all very thorough. The decal sheet provides markings for A45 and being pre-lacquered will necessitate cutting out each item separately prior to application.Wire and clear material is also included in the box.

BONUS! Our kit also includes an accurate CCI decal sheet in standard format along with a pair of resin 1:72 scale pilot figures in appropriate garb.Contents are complete with everything in mint condition.

* The kit was reviewed in WINDSOCK International Vo.22, No.2, March/April 2006,copies of which are still available-please see the link below...
