1:72 FROG BLACKBURN SKUA (F162), 1956

DIVE BOMBER!

There have not been that many plastic kits produced of the WWII Blackburn Skua and this from the late-lamented Frog in 1956 must surely have been the first? Our survivor from the early Rovex years is complete and also includes extra spare parts including the long greenhouse canopy and decal sheet. All contents are carefully segregated into new Zip-lock polybags to avoid loss.

*CONTAINS EXTRA PARTS AND DECALS PLUS TWO GENUINE SKUA PHOTOS!

THE Frog Blackburn Skua formed part of the company's 'Red Series' of plastic kits that appeared in the mid-fifties. With parts sharply-moulded, all the charm and simplicity of Rovex kit production at the time is encapsulated in this relic. With raised riveting and panel lines, a rather nondescript cockpit interior and  somewhat basic engine, this old-stager could nevertheless form the basis of a realistic Skua in the right hands. Aside from a missing  starboard upper tail-plane half - which we have replaced-see note below- it is complete and all parts are in VGC. That long greenhouse transparency is surprisingly thin,  crisply-moulded and accompanied by a tiny leading edge landing light cover. Re-bagged, our example of Frog kit F162 includes the original transfer sheet but there's no display stand in an original box that has suffered a little degradation over the ages...

*BONUS ITEMS!  Complete set of replacement tail-plane parts, plus spare rudder, wheels, engine and airscrew from a later issue is included along with a spare canopy and decal sheet. Also in the box are two post WWII Real Photographs 'postcards' of genuine Skuas in flight!
