1:72 CM FRIEDRICHSHAFEN F33H (B28), 2002
FABLED FLOATPLANES!
ONE of six Friedrichshafen resin kits issued in 2002,the Choroszy Modelbud 1:72 scale FF 33L is an exceptional model in every respect. Accurate in outline, superbly detailed throughout and including beaching dollies and trestles for display purposes the kit is a first class example of resin production. Indeed so fine are wing and float struts they may not take kindly to robust treatment and substitutes from either Contrail or Strutz would pay dividends. Instruction sheets are exemplary and the generic decals for the three German variants provide all requisite national markings and fuselage Marine numbers. Contents are mint and the box is in equable condition.

REMARKABLE all-resin production by a Polish manufacturer that has deservedly earned a high reputation over the years for their unique choice of WWI subjects beautifully-tooled and exquisitely detailed. In 2002, Choroszy Modelbud released a septet of well-known German Friedrichshafen floatplanes: the FF 33E*; FF33H* and FF33L* each available as German and Polish examples. We have just one of them, the smaller two-bay Type L in German markings. As with all the kits, it features ultra-fine fuselage halves bearing intricate detail inside and out with comprehensive cockpit appointments and a complete Benz Bz III so well cast that it really only needs some fine wiring and careful painting to bring it to life. All six kits come with a pair of wheeled beaching dollies and support trestles for floats and rear fuselages. Generic decal sheets provide eiserne kreuze along with marine numbers 1981 [FF 33E] and 695 for the L version.Instruction leaflets include three-view 1:72 scale GAs plus exploded assembly sketches for cockpit interiors;wing cellule;float and dolly assemblies. Accurate outlines coupled with razor-sharp flying and control surfaces really do elevate these CM kits from the ordinary and the FF 33L is no exception. It contains over 70 parts carefully re-segregated into polybags preventing loss and damage-all mint and complete.
*Reviewed in WINDSOCK International Vol.18, No.2, March/April 2002 which also includes a four page FF 33 modelling feature complete with build photos and three colour profiles.
