Ansaldo's Balilla is immortalized by Poland's Techmod by their stunning 1:48 scale kit combining injection-moulded plastic with 3D printed parts. The latter are superb, down to the ultra-fine matrix and emblem on the radiator front to delicate spoked wheels and a plethora of cockpit parts also. This is a mint example and provides comprehensive instruction diagrams and multi-view colour profiles illustrating the five options that are printed on a quite spectacular decal sheet. One of the finest 1:48 scale models of this classic Italian WWI fighter ever kitted.
OF fairly recent vintage is Techmod's high-grade 1:48 scale injection-moulded kit of the Italian Balilla (Hunter) fighter of WWI. Beautifully produced,all the parts are very well detailed and accurate in outline with ultra-realistic wing rib detail and a superbly-rendered cockpit interior that employs a number of 3D printed parts to good effect. No PE is included as none are necessary. There's a fully-detailed SPA-6a motor that fits to authentic frames and bearers and over a dozen stages of the instruction booklet cover the interior...Assembly is straightforward with moulded rigging anchors to be attached to both wings for adding rigging-schematics for which are clearly shown in the relevant diagrams.
Five examples are presented on the expansive decal sheet supported by colour pages illustrating the colours and markings over in multiple views leaving little room for error. There are three Italian jobs: 16622; 16553; 16558-all from the 87th Squadriglia with mottled uppersurfaces ; a post-war Polish A.1; (16733) and all rounded off with a Royal Hellenic Balilla in blue and white decor. Decals are first class with the beautiful fuselage and wing emblems resplendent in their correct colours with gold-inked areas as appropriate. An exceptional model in mint order- as purchased.
