From 2010 comes Revell's re-issue of the classic Eduard 1:48 scale Albatros D.V which has been re-boxed by the Czech parent company multiple times over the years since it was first introduced in 1995. This example is mint, aside from the slightly worn-edged box, but is complete with the original Revell decals. These offer the black-fuselaged D.V flown by Ltn. Otto Kissenberth in Jasta 16b bearing the large Edelweiss marking that also adorned his Pfalz and Roland fighters. Udet's D.V from Jasta 37 -inevitably monogrammed 'Lo'- is the other option with diagonal tail striping on both surfaces being provided. This attractive Revell re-pop also comes with an extra three sets of after-market decal sheets for The D.V and D.Va as well as a few for the earlier D.III version-also by Eduard, and also on the shop. Over 10 different aircraft feature on these exclusive extras!

THIS is, of course, a re-packaging of an original Eduard D.V, the origins of which go back to 1995. Since when the moulds have been improved and at least 17 re-boxings produced by the manufacturer down the years, but this Revell release is the only proxy version that we know of. Two large frames in grey carry over 50 cleanly-moulded parts-no flash-and contain a generous 16 cockpit parts with a six-piece Mercedes engine which add plenty of interest to the interior. Fuselage surface detail is excellent with the treatment of wings and tail-plane elements fully convincing in this scale. The decals offer a difficult choice-the black fuselaged Jasta 16b machine of Ltn. Otto Kissenberth emblazoned with his large trademark edelweiss emblem-as applied to the TVAL repro' often displayed at Old Warden. The second example is the Jasta 37 D.V flown by Ltn. Ernst Udet in silver grey and a blck/white striped tailplane-both surfaces supplied on the sheet.Either one of these schemes will look great! Full painting guides are supplied, and the contents of our kit have been re-bagged for the attractive end-opening box with its eye-catching Andrzej Deredos' artwork.

*SCALE-MASTER (Vitachrome),designed jointly by IPMS Spruce Goose and Glencoe for their D.Va kit. Markings are those of the Smithsonian/NASM exhibit, named Stropp, featuring the green and yellow-striped tailplane of Jasta although these are not on the sheet.
*FCM 48-17 from Brazil offers seven Albatros fighters which provide four D.V and a brace of D.III subjects. There is Vzfw. Fritz Rumey's 'barber-pole' fuselage- and the stripes are present in several separate pieces to make a challenging jigsaw- Paul Strahle's D.V of Jasta 38; and the black-tailed Jasta 12 exemplar flown by Ltn. Ulrich Neckel and Vzfw. Manfred Stimmel's Jasta 32 mount with the pilot's inter-twined fuselage monogram...
*...and finally there's one of those superb Lifelike Decals sets [48-040] which offers Voss' Jasta 5 D.III ; Ltn.d.R. Josef Weltjens' blue/red Jasta 18 D.V; Ltn. Max Nather's black-bodied D.Va of Jasta 62 and-cream of the entire crop-the exotic Jasta 76b D.Va flown by Vzfw. Hopf. The comprehensive sheet includes full Bavarian Diamond fuselage and tail colours. National insignias, plenty of stencils, airscrew laminates and supplementary blue stripes are provided as well as a correction sheet for Nather's flag markings.
