EASILY the finest 1:48 scale WWI plastic aeroplane kit of its day, the Lindberg Curtiss JN-4 Jenny was in a class of its own and we have this mint example of the 1995 reissue with its eye-catching box art and a new decal sheet that offers an albino ambulance version from WWI and a post-war USN JN-4 in silver and chrome yellow -both making attractive alternatives to the usual Army livery. The kit is moulded in silver grey and includes a spare set of clear windshields and ex-Aurora groundcrew to use with the tail skid wheeled dolly the kit does provide. This re-issue includes a generous length of steel wire for rigging the completed model and also comes with a vintage copy of The CAHS Journal that features some great references for RFC/RAF Canada training Jennies.

THIS is the third reissue of Lindberg's classic Jenny kit from 1955, and the first to provide an all-new decal sheet with alternative markings.Moulded in silver grey, as opposed to the usual bright yellow, this is a finely-moulded, generally accurate kit of the famous Curtiss JN-4 trainer biplane that belies its advanced age. Unlike its Aurora contemporaries, the fuselage and wing parts did not feature those dreaded etched markings' positions making this kit doubly desirable as the best 1:48 scale plastic kit of a WWI type produced during the 1950s and 1960s... Containing over 45 parts,the kit features a reasonable cockpit suite and a five-piece Curtiss OX-5 engine that can be viewed under an unglued engine hood.Some flash is present on several parts but is easily removed,also the three crew figures were not included in this issue so we have provided ex-Aurora Jenny substitutes.Decals presented markings for 6226, a USN trainer based at NAS Pensacola in 1921 and an all-white WWI JN-4 ambulance with appropriate Red Cross markings. We suggest spraying the sheet with clear acrylic before use as a few items are showing hairline cracks...

Included with this kit is a copy of The CAHS Journal dated Fall 1984,the Vol.22, No.3 edition, with some excellent Jenny pictorials and detailed feature on Canadian trainer units squadrons and markings. This comprehensive guide contains a number of rare photos; extremely well-detailed drawings by Ian Stair, as well as two pages of mono side views showcasing unit fuselage, wing and tail markings- all 32 of them.
