1:48 INPACT GLOSTER GLADIATOR,(P101), 1968

THUMBS-UP FOR THIS GLADIATOR!

THE first 1:48 scale model kit of the Gloster Gladiator was released buy Inpact in 1968 and was an accurate, well-moulded and detailed production that stands up well with more recent productions. As with all the four kits in Inpact's Classic Fighter Series, the faultless reproduction of fabric-covered wings, tail unit and fuselage halves was to a level not seen at the time and has rarely been bettered since. The kit includes the clear canopy in three parts with both open and closed options. Contents are in mint condition and the decals provide colourful markings of K7985 of No. 73 Squadron RAF. Our kit is complete and includes extra engine and canopy parts for spares as well as two contemporary photo prints of Gladiators in the 1930s.

*CONTAINS EXTRA PARTS, SQUADRON  MARKINGS CHART & TWO PERIOD PHOTOS!

THE Gloster Gladiator has been a perennial favourite with plastic kit manufacturers ever since 1955 with release of the 1:72 scale Airfix model.  Inpact were first with a 1:48 scale version in 1968 since when the classic RAF fighter biplane has been produced by a number of companies in at least three scales. Inpact's Gladiator was a prime example of a a vintage aircraft being researched thoroughly with unprecedented realism, especially in regard to fabric-covered airframes matched only by Wingnut Wings 40 years later...  The Gladiator wing and fuselage skinning is a classic example of such treatment and the fine panel lines and rivet detail of metal fuselage areas are equally impressive. With its separate tyres; high-detail Bristol Mercury IX nine-cylinder radial and sliding canopy options, kit P.201 quickly proved a strong seller on the model market back in the late 1960s. Colourful decals and top quality instructions, plus rigging material and a display stand completed the content. Our kit's plastic is in mint order but the box has suffered the ravages of time, especially the lower tray with its wavy sides, whilst we have made some necessary repairs to the lid. *Bonus materials include spare engine parts  and transparencies together with two original period photos from our archive!
