1:48 EDUARD ALBATROS D.III WEEKEND EDITION.

SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND, SIR?

2016 Eduard release of their classic Albatros D.III re-issued as a 'vanilla' Weekend Edition sans any PE items-just pure plastic and a reduced two-option decal sheet.Plenty of internal detail including a full Mercedes, the two runners also include optional rudder and main-plane configurations. Accurate overall with subtle and convincing  surface detail this is Eduard on their very best behaviour. Decals feature two perennial favourites flown by two leading  aces of WWI -one Albatros being red overall, the other bearing three red hearts... An extra bonus is a mint sheet of 1995 AeroMaster decals with a pair of colourful D.III fighters supported by two D.Va subjects.* One of the former offers a an OAW -built Albatros of Jasta 49 so now you can make use of that alternative rudder in the kit! Our example is as new and complete with all parts repacked in zip-locked polythene bags-none of that sticky-backed cellophane nonsense!

*CONTAINS EXTRA DECALS!

Eduard's Kit No. 8438, a no frills 'Weekend Edition' of their popular 1:48 scale Albatros D.III that provides two main frames in mid grey bearing all the parts required to build either one of two very well-known examples flown by Voss and MvR. Plenty of cockpit and internal detail plus full Mercedes add to the fun, and there's an un-used OAW style rudder and extra main-plane with central Teves und Braun radiator as options. Sharp, crisp moulding throughout with accurate outlines, the fuselage being particularly noteworthy for its restrained panel lines; louvres; inspection doors; authentic lower wing fillet and fairings plus internal framework. Instruction booklet is a model of clarity and provides colour views of Ltn. Werner Voss' Jasta 2 machine in its final scheme and the 'red devil' flown by von Richthofen in Jasta 11 with overpainted cross patee. Decals are of excellent quality and provide all relevant markings aside from the white bands for the Voss Albatros. One set of national insignia is presented and there's also a decal harnes -preferable to PE in this scale. All content has been rescued from their original cellophane bags with those awkward adhesive strips and resealed in zip-lock polythene bags: everything is in mint condition-as new.

BONUS!   Our kit also contains a complete set of AeroMaster Decals 48-182 'Albatros Collection Part II' with colourful markings for four Albatrosse: OAW-built D.III of Jasta 49; Jasta 5 D.III with ornate Bavarian colours and a brace of D.Va from Jagdstaffeln 43 and 59. Beautifully printed, these excellent sheets also provide Axial and Albatros logos with national insignia in white and black sections to ensure precise registration-a thoughtful touch.
