CSM injection-moulded Caudron G.IV, impeccably moulded and packaged with plenty of PE detail items and comprehensive decal sheet covering a quartet of late version French service machines. All frames remain intact within their original plastic bags and aside from one repaired box corner the kit offered is absolutely mint as purchased. One only.
Released in 2016, this injection-moulded 1:48 scale Caudron G.IV twin-engined French classic completely overshadows the original Copper State Models resin kit K1027 from 2006.The all-new version is injection-moulded to an extremely high standard with its partially-covered wing panel design being particularly convincing as are the remaing control surfaces and cockpit nacelle parts. Myriad pieces are coralled on five frames encased in their original unopened plastic bags.Additional content includes strurdy PE firewall frames for the Le Rhone rotaries and a comprehensive nickel PE set that provides masses of detail items: interior fittings and seat; Eteve gun mounting; all rigging ferrules; metal panels around engine nacelles; control levers and windscreen frames. The decal sheet offers markings for examples from Escadrille C.11; C.66; C.202 and C.487 with one set of cocardes and tricolour stripes along with unit markings and inner rudder stencilling in their correct font style. Four Gremont propeller decals also feature in red, black and gold.
This is a complex model but assembly is simplified by a 24 page all-colour manual that features four pages of rigging layouts plus profiles for finishing guidance. Apart from a slightly damaged outer box lid,the kit is offered in mint condition. An epic production of a WWI classic, CSM 1027 was the first in a line of G.4 versions kitted by the Latvian-based CSM.
