1:200 SHED MODELS RAF RE8, 2011
TINY 'TATE!
From Norfolk-based Shed Models in 2011, a real gem of a WWI aeroplane model kit-in 1:200 scale!-of the legendary 1917 RAF-designed Reconnaissance Experimental No. 8 fondly remembered as the 'Harry Tate' after a popular music hall artiste of the day. Despite the small size of the white metal parts and PE sheet details, it builds into an accurate miniature and even includes a choice of decal markings. The kit is in mint condition with all the pieces and decals intact. Comes packed within foam sponge layers inside a really robust box for added protection in transit. One only...
THIS is a 1:200 scale diecast metal WWI aeroplane kit released in 2011 which builds into a near-perfect miniature of the 1917 reconnaissance two-seater immortalised in WWI lore by its sobriquet 'Harry Tate, one of the most instantly recognisable of British two-seaters.* Shed's kit is to a high standard with five finely-cast metal elements: fuselage, lower wing, tailplane and tail skid being a single piece. The 64mm span upper wing incorporates fine brass struts under the centre-section that need careful bending backwards before installation. Other parts include the RAF engine block; four-blade airscrew and combined front u/c legs/axle/wheel castings with a PE sheet providing all remaining struts, rear undercarriage legs and exhaust pipes. The minuscule decal sheet offers markings for two aircraft: F6279 and A4352 both with PC10 upper surfaces. Duplicated rudder serial and fuselage numbers are supplied, along with printed paper versions in black to help locate them for removal.
