'THEY'RE FLOCKING THIS WAY'!
One of six vinyl dinosaur kits tied in with the first Jurassic Park movie in 1992. Produced by Tsukudu Hobby of Japan, this out-of-production 1:10 scale Gallimimus is something of a rarity now. Box a little worn in places, the kit is complete other than the metal stand rod which is missing. However, our package does contain suitably-sized taxidermists' glass eyes to replace the kit's moulded ones!
FIRST released in 1992,along with several other great dinosaur kits to tie in with the original Jurassic Park blockbuster,was this 1:10 scale Gallimimus PVC/vinyl kit by Tsukuda Hobby of Japan. It consists of just eight parts and assembly is fairly simple if one carefully follows the supplied instruction leaflets. Paints and colours are the modeller's own choice-either matching the movie version as shown-or their own customised approach.Plenty of scope for a really imaginative palette! The kit is in good order,although the box is a little worn around the edges and is complete other than the threaded metal vertical rod for the circular base plate. This always looked clumsy to me and for the completed model shown, I filled one of the legs in Milliput,drilled out when hardened and inserted a stronger rod which in turn was firmly anchored to a wooden diorama plinth :Result? No visible means of support!
*As a bonus this kit includes a pair of suitably-sized glass eyes that can be glued in once the moulded ones are drilled out to fit them. Much more realistic and no tricky painting!
